Aluminum is one of ten priority industries identified by the state government that will underpin SCORE’s growth.

Reliable, affordable electricity is a vital factor in the efficient and effective processing of ore – as energy accounts for 20-40% of the total cost of producing aluminum. Sarawak’s – One of the two states of Malaysia located on the island of Borneo, the largest Malaysian state – vast hydro-power resources, strategically located deep-sea ports, and generous tax incentives and financial incentives make it an ideal location for large-scale investment projects.

The key segments of the aluminum industry are smelting, casting, foundries and extrusion. The majority of aluminum products currently manufactured in Malaysia are extruded components used in the construction industry.
